Raising Your Child to be a Millionaire

We lied to our children

Remember when we insisted that our kids worked hard at school to get good exam results so they could then go to University to get a degree…so they could then get a fantastic job?   Well, where are those fantastic jobs now?  Nowhere to be seen.  300 graduates applying for one job.  Very few graduates getting work in the very subject they’ve just studied.  And school leavers?  The employers are saying they’re not fit for purpose.  Ouch.

Clearly there’s a gap.  A gap in prospects.  A gap in what we’re teaching them and what the real world wants.  A gap in our parenting?

Well, I’m writing a book – should be available Spring 2011 – and it’s addressing what we need to be doing to encourage the very traits that employers want OR fostering the ability in our children to become awesome entrepreneurs themselves.  Maybe that strongly opinionated difficult teen who wants to do things their way or no way, is actually a budding entrepreneur in the waiting?

If you’d like to add food for thought to my book during its creation, contact me at  jane (dot) malyon (at) havebedo (dot) co. uk  – I’d be glad to have your input!
